‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6 spoilers: Meet Maura’s adoptive father!

While we have had an opportunity to meet quite a few parents of Maura Isles through the first five seasons of TNT’s “Rizzoli & Isles,” her adoptive father has remained a secret … but only until right now!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, M*A*S*H alum David Ogden Stiers has been cast in the role of Arthur, and you are going to meet him in the eighth episode of the season. While we’ve learned a little bit about Maura’s family history over time, the specific role of the character in this particular episode remains to be seen.

What you should be most happy about right now when it comes to the casting is that it further represents something that this series is very good at: Finding a way to implement guest stars over time. The show has had the luxury of knowing thanks to its runaway success that there has not been any real danger of it going away for a long time, and thanks to that it could take its time with delivering stories. Therefore, you get to see something family-related for at least one of the characters almost every season.

The new batch of episodes will officially start come Tuesday, July 16, and as we have seen in years past, we would anticipate the show delivering to us a series of new episodes this summer, and then a smaller batch that will be coming out at some point during the winter months.
