‘Chasing Life’ season 2: Italia Ricci confirms new premiere date

Chasing Life -Chasing Life” is moving forward, and in the process it is doing something that very few ABC Family series before it have ever done: Air new episodes at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. This news was confirmed by star Italia Ricci on Twitter, who makes it clear that the show will start on Monday, July 6. Originally, the premiere was set to be over a month later in August.

Why the sudden change? There is no clear answer for that, other than that maybe the network feels like this is the right show to experiment with a little when it comes to its premiere date. As we just mentioned, this is something that the network has ever done before, but given that it is summer and that this is a show that may have a slightly older viewership than some other programs that ABC Family broadcasts, it is definitely possible that they may be able trying to see if there will be an audience that wants to watch a little bit later at night.

In the end, we’re unsure if this is a good move or not. While we do view the later timeslot in some ways as a positive (some people may want to stay outside until the sun sets in the summer), it’s also going to take an aggressive marketing push for everyone to realize that this is when the series is airing now.

ABC Family does have a busy summer slate in general, given that they have the new season of “Pretty Little Liars” on Tuesdays, a new show in “Stitchers” on Mondays, and the latest season of “The Fosters” is coming up on Monday.
