Jimmy Kimmel releases latest ‘Mean Tweets’ with Steph Curry, Jeremy Lin in time for NBA Finals

Jimmy Kimmel -Despite the fact that the entire premise has been done to death at this point, we do still for the most part find Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” to be incredibly entertaining. It’s amazing that it can be when you have a premise that is ultimately so simple. You round up a bunch of famous people, stick them in a room, and then watch them read self-deprecating messages. It’s such a simple idea, but one that the show pulls off so effectively.

Given that ABC is currently airing the NBA Finals, you really cannot be that surprised that the latest batch of tweets features the likes of Steph Curry, Magic Johnson, and a variety of some of the other best NBA players past and present … and even a few broadcasters like Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy. Draymond Green may actually be the best recipient of a bad tweet, both in terms of the content and his response to it.

For those of you who actually care about the current progress in the NBA Finals itself, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers last night to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 is coming over the weekend, and then the teams will go to Cleveland to pick up the action from there.

Now that we’ve had this, doesn’t it feel like time that we have some other, regular “Mean Tweets” again? It feels like the last we had one was with musicians around the time of the Grammy Awards earlier in the year.
