‘Dancing with the Stars’ winner Rumer Willis talks embarking on show tour
These days, “Dancing with the Stars” is so much more than just a dance competition; it’s become a phenomenon, and there have been everything from touring shows to residencies. This summer, there is in particular a tour happening around the country. It features a variety of popular performers, including the likes of pros Witney Carson, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, and Val Chmerkovskiy. As it turns out, Val is also going to be joined by none other than reigning champion and partner Rumer Willis.
So why did she decide to come on board for this “Perfect Ten Tour”? Speaking per Us Weekly, much of her reasoning for it is getting an opportunity to continue doing something that she loves:
“I was so bored the week that I stopped dancing … You do this incredible journey and it’s so intense for three months and then all of a sudden you win or your part of the show stops and you’re just done, so I literally started cleaning my whole house…I had so much energy I didn’t know what to do with…so I asked about going on tour. I just thought what a great opportunity, I have this new skill and it’s like a new toy to play with.”
The tour has proven to be a good experience for some other people over the years. Specifically, Alfonso Ribeiro performed on some dates early this year, and he now has an impressive new gig as the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” in the place of departing host Tom Bergeron.
