‘The X Factor’ UK: Simon Cowell laughs off idea of David Walliams as judge

The latest news -We have already said many times over that we find David Walliams to be in many ways our reality TV spirit animal. He is extremely funny, extremely zany, and never particularly afraid to speak his mind on any given occasion. We could watch him judge almost anything, including a burping contest on the side of the road.

Unfortunately, this does not mean that he will be judging “The X Factor” anytime soon alongside his desired bromance partner Simon Cowell. Speaking per the Express, Cowell claimed that David would be a “terrible” judge on the show (granted, he’s not in the music industry) and that it would “never ever happen.” He then also went on to covertly dig at a few people who sign on to judge a reality show for a year, only to then move on to do some other things in the future:

“I have seen people go onto these shows for a year and they’ve got zero interest in the artists and they want to sell a few concert tickets, sell a few records and a book then disappear.”

We will agree with Simon that this is very annoying, but at the same time it is easier for him to be invested in the show, given that he has the background as an executive and can market and promote stars after the fact. MAny other judges who are just artists don’t really have that same exact reason to stay involved in the long-term.
