‘Shadowhunters’ spoilers: #WhoIsRaphael revealed!

While ABC Family may only have so much more time with “Pretty Little Liars” before its series eventually comes to a close (possibly after season 7), they’ve already invested quite a bit of time and money unto their next big series: “Shadowhunters.” Their adaptation of The Mortal Instruments series has already received plenty of buzz; the fact that they managed to get #WhoIsRaphael a trending topic before the series even premieres is a huge testament to that!

So who is Raphael? Well, we can tell you right now that it is none other than “Are We There Yet?” alum David Castro. Raphael Santiago is a former leader of a vampire group in New York City, and he has a very specific connection to someone else important to the story.

There is no easy way to summarize this series for those unfamiliar with the books, but we can at least tell you that Katherine McNamara, who is also appearing on the upcoming season of “The Fosters,” is going to be Clary Fray, a woman who learns some significant secrets about her lineage upon turning 18. From there, she is destined to do some great things and fight great evil.

For now, all we really hope is that this series manages to live up to its tremendous hype, given that it is not too often that a show gets this sort of buzz this early. “Shadowhunters” is after all not going to be premiering until next year, and specific details are not entirely clear just yet.
