Ratings: ‘America’s Got Talent’ falls in second week; ‘iZombie’ stays relatively steady

The full review -While “America’s Got Talent” may have a major achievement to celebrate right now in its tenth season, it also has to be aware of the fact that this traditionally is the time when most summer shows start to fade away. Sure, it has originality going for it somewhat, and we personally feel like the further and further that they push away from singers, the better off that they are probably going to be in the end.

For its second episode of the season, the NBC hit last night drew a still-impressive 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is a slight decline over the 2.6 the premiere episode dropped. We still wouldn’t be surprised if the show adjusted up a tenth in the final ratings. The success of this show is helping “I Can Do That,” which further showed that it can score good ratings with a 1.5, the second-highest figure on network TV last night.

Unless you really want to talk about the super-flop that is the revival of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” (0.7), let’s move on here to discuss the staying power for “iZombie.” While its 0.6 rating in the demo is hardly a huge achievement for The CW (it’s simply about average), it is impressive that it is holding this rating without “The Flash” being around. This is a show that is currently drawing a rating that is slightly better than some episodes of “The Originals,” and a step up from “Jane the Virgin” and “Reign” still. It already has been renewed for another season, so clearly you won’t be seeing it go anywhere.

Also, “Hell’s Kitchen” (1.1) is still magically on the air.
