‘iZombie’ season 1, episode 13 (finale) review: Who was injected with the cure?
Liv has been on quite the ride on “iZombie” this season going from human to zombie to “psychic” to single – she has really been through practically everything, but through it all we still have hope for her that everything will turn out okay. That being said we don’t expect a perfect, happy ending for her tonight… it’s only the end of season 1 and we suspect there will be many more great seasons to come. Tonight we are just hoping to learn what Peyton is going to do now that she knows that Liv is a zombie and also how much trouble Major is really in now that Blaine has him locked up in the butcher shop.
Ultimately, we found that this episode was really not so much about Peyton to us, and a little bit more about some of the moves that Liv made in order to allow for others to be happy. It was a night of heroism for her, no matter how devastating that may really be. The cure was used, both on Major and on Blaine … and unfortunately not on her. This move may be a major cut to Blaine’s operation, but at the same time she did not want to kill him out of fear of what would happen.
Liv obviously wanted the best for Major, but she is stuck still now as a zombie despite all of the work that she has put in, and there is a possibility now that her brother could die as well. Holy cliffhanger, Batman! This is a show that did not end anything in an easy fashion at all, instead deciding to have almost every story be as nutty as humanly possible.
At least one interesting dynamic that comes out of all this for Major and Liv is that with the two of them completely in the know, maybe they can work out a new coexistence … at least hopefully. This was a solid end to a very solid first season, and we’ll just have to see what lies ahead now. Grade: B+.
