‘Girls’ season 5 spoilers: Is Elijah getting a new love interest?

We have not had many opportunities to write about HBO’s “Girls” as of late, but there has been a pretty frank, simple reason for that: It is hardly as though there has been much in the way of news to even report on the show!

Today, we come bearing some good news that moving forward, we could actually see Elijah in some sort of romantic arc that does not involve it going down completely in flames in a short amount of time. While he’s a guy who wants love, he bears some of the same character flaws as Hannah in that they are both overtly selfish, and at times tend to sabotage a good thing when they start to realize that they actually have that. Just take a look at what series star Andrew Rannells had to say in a new interview with E! News on the subject:

“I can tell you that Elijah gets to have a attempt to a real relationship which is very exciting … Romance is the big thing for him, but the huge, mature stuff for him this season is actually trying to have a relationship.” 

The fifth season of “Girls” will most-likely premiere come January of next year, and the crazy thing at the moment is that this may be the most substantial sort of tease we really get from Rannells or anyone on the subject of this character. Lena Dunham in particular tends to be very secretive about some of her story arcs, so it may take a little bit of time for some further information to start to surface.
