Is ‘Home Fires’ episode 5 new tonight on ITV?

Tonight marks the “Britain’s Got Talent” final on ITV, and this was an opportunity to see a variety of tremendous talent crammed into two and a half hours. Perhaps “crammed” really is not the right word to use here, given that this was a pretty lengthy amount of time for any television program.

With this being said, there are consequences to a show airing such an enormous episode on a night it does not typically air, and a preemption is at the top of the list. There is no new episode of “Home Fires” coming on the air tonight, but the series set in the small Cheshire village will be back come next week to try and continue a story that left on a severely emotional note courtesy of what happened with Jack, and the position that Kate is now in as a result of that. Right when she started to feel almost as though her entire life was sorted out, someone came in and threw a massive wrench into the proceedings. That has to be at least a fairly difficult pill to swallow.

We do at least have a new, short synopsis from ITV to tease, which gives us a little more insight into what is coming up: “Erica’s friendship with Pat is tested, and a new evacuee in the village is not quite what Frances bargained for.”

Hopefully, we are going to see at least some other great stories from the series before its short batch of episodes wraps up. We will have some other news all about it very soon, so be on the lookout for that.
