‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2, episode 1 preview: What to expect from premiere

Sunday night is a huge night for “Halt and Catch Fire,” given that this is finally going to be the AMC series’ chance to shine in the spotlight now that “Mad Men” is off the air. It’s been almost a year since we’ve seen the show, and early buzz is strong that while it was great in season 1, it has found its way to raise the game yet again.

The first thing you can expect to see when the show returns is in some ways even more of an ensemble cast than you had the first time around. It was pretty clear through much of season 1, at least to us, that this was going to be mostly the story of Joe and how he decided to turn Cardiff into a computer company. He also tried to sabotage it at the very end, and that is something that we hope to understand so much more as we get further and further along into this season.

So while you know Joe well, expect to see so much more of Cameron and Donna now that they are trying to run their startup Mutiny, and are in their element much more than ever before. They have huge ambitions when it comes to connectivity and even computer gaming, but trying to implement some of their ideas will not exactly be easy. As a matter of fact, it could lead to shutting down a whole neighborhood.

As for Gordon, we consider him for now the show’s greatest enigma. He will have success, but will he be truly happy?
