Julie Plec’s ‘Containment’ on The CW lands former ‘Covert Affairs’ showrunners
Corman and Ord are veterans to the game, having done five seasons of the very strong USA series “Covert Affairs,” which was stunningly canceled after this past go-around on the air. These two will help to lighten the load on Plec, who clearly has a lot on her plate already, and bring their own creative stamp to the development of the story.
“Containment” (previously known as “Cordon” during pilot season) stars recent “Vampire Diaries” guest Chris Wood, and you can see the official logline below:
“When a deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta, a large city quarantine is quickly enforced, leaving those stuck on the inside to fight for their lives. Based upon the original Belgian series, Cordon tells the story of loved ones tragically torn apart, and how the society that grows inside the cordon reveals both the devolution of humanity and the birth of unlikely heroes.”
Sound intriguing? It is certainly right in the vein of what is popular today, and it may continue to draw the young genre audience that has become The CW’s bread and butter over the past several years. You can see the first trailer below.
