‘Heroes: Reborn’ spoilers: ‘Covert Affairs’ alum cast in mystery role

Heroes -Is “Heroes: Reborn” poised to have one of the biggest casts for any summer show that we’ve ever seen? It is certainly starting to feel that way, mostly due to all of the various announcements that we’ve come to hear over time.

The latest one that we have for now related to Nazneen Contractor. Per a report from Deadline, the “Covert Affairs” alum is going to be appearing on the upcoming NBC revival of the former franchise hit as Farah … a mysterious, “militant” woman. That’s really all that has been revealed so far, hence the reason behind the adjective “mysterious” being used. NBC and Tim Kring want to keep things under wraps, though we do still know that the cast will include newcomers including Zachary Levi and Robbie Kay to go along with former cast member Jack Coleman as HRG. Some other alumni, including Greg Grunberg (Matt) and Masi Oka (Hiro), are also set to make appearances.

For “Heroes: Reborn,” the challenge is not going to be casting good actors or creating cool stunts. It is going to be finding a way to ensure that the series does not go completely overboard. What happened after season 1 is that we started to get into a situation where almost everyone important had powers. Not only that, but many of them had powers that were so stunning that they could basically do and destroy everything. It’s like playing a fighting arcade game, and there is a character who automatically can destroy anyone without any effort. There’s no real fun in that.

“Heroes: Reborn” will return to NBC this fall, and will air Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. To receive some other recent updates on the show, head over to the link here.
