‘Fuller House’: Bob Saget officially joins Netflix continuation, per John Stamos
For those wondering whether or not “Fuller House” was going to have the star power that it really needs to be successful, we come bearing great news: You really do not have any reason to work. Then again, maybe you weren’t given that you knew already that Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Dave Coulier were all set already to return to the Netflix revival.
Actor / executive producer John Stamos confirmed this week on Twitter that none other than Bob Saget will be appearing on the show in some capacity moving forward. Saget to us was one of the necessary components, most because he has such great comic timing and because his legacy has really endured. (Granted, his legacy as a standup is a completely other beast entirely.)
Now that we get a sense of the full cast (Stamos will appear, but he does have other obligations in the form of his Fox series “Grandfathered”), we are starting to feel like this could be a hit. Also, we’re starting to think that not getting Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen is not as enormous of a loss as it could have been. Michelle was a popular character, but we imagine that you can probably introduce one or two new people who will inject their own sort of energy into the project.
“Fuller House” does not have a premiere date at the moment, but this is one of the many reasons why Netflix is currently killing it with content. They’ve got an enormous roster of great series, and they also have many fan favorites like this show, “Arrested Development” (which probably will have another season eventually), and the upcoming fourth season of “Longmire.”
