‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 spoilers: Kat Graham discusses potential future of Bonnie, Damon

It has now been over a week since the end of “The Vampire Diaries” season 6, and hopefully at some point in that time you have started to prepare for a series that will not have Elena in it.

One of the things that we are looking forward to in the weeks ahead is seeing some more of how this opens up the world of the show to some other dynamics, and one of the fun ones could be exploring the newfound friendship between Bonnie and Damon. These are two characters who at one point couldn’t stand each other, but after being transported back and also dealing with Kai, they developed more of a rapport that has carried through to the future. We’d be surprised if romance was in the cards for them, but we do imagine that they will form a tighter bond … but also at times conflict. Remember here that Elena can basically not exist in this world so long as Bonnie is alive, and while Damon would not kill her, we’d be lying if he said that there was no violent streak no longer in the man.

So what does Kat Graham want to see from these two characters moving forward? As she explained recently to E! News, she is very much hoping to see some stories coming up that explore some of the light and dark sides that exist now with these two individuals:

“I’m hoping for both. I’m hoping that we see both sides of their relationship and how it can affect them both because it’s obviously going to screw with Bonnie and him, but especially Bonnie.”
