‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ official name for season 31; more cast reaction
We are still reeling somewhat from the results of the “Survivor” fan vote to the extent that it is hard to even get everything together for an article at this second. Still, we’re going to do our best here!
Attached to this article is the official logo, per Entertainment Weekly, of what is going to be called officially “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance.” It’s a really nice logo with a cool color scheme, but it does not help to erase the massive disappointment that we have in our heart about the lack of a Shane Powers. Yes, we are upset about T-Bird getting cut, but we figured that some people a la Troyzan and Jim Rice would probably not make it. We expected Woo to join the ranks, just because he was a casual fan favorite and a likable guy. We’re mostly stunned that Andrew Savage made it over him, given that he was on so long ago and also that he was not that popular even back then.
Filming is starting in a mere matter of days, and the bus that the contestants all boarded is really not too much of an exaggeration as to how quickly this journey is going to begin for all of the people coming up. (Head over here to view the cast.) All three nominees from the first two seasons made the cut, and the fact that neither Max Dawson nor Carolyn Rivera did showed that there wasn’t too big of a recency bias … though most other nominees from the past several seasons did get an invitation, with the exception of Brad Culpepper.
Hopefully, Jeff Probst does remember by the time the season starts that Abi-Maria’s name is not Abi-Marie.
We’re going to have some more coverage of this all summer, so stay tuned! Also, you can sign up now to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)

Shane Powers not getting cast is a tragedy for the show. Keith doesn’t know how to play. Woo just looks pretty. Shane deserved it and the fans deserved him. I’m sad.
