‘The Big Bang Theory season 6, episode 7 review: Can Amy, Wil Wheaton get along?

Our favorite episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” are the ones that involve Wil Wheaton. We saw him and Sheldon have a hilarious rivalry for the first few seasons and then they finally found some common ground and stopped coming at each other and now they have a sort of friendship (or at least they like each other more then they did). Will Amy like Wil or is there going to be a new rivalry formed between these two?

Fun with Flags is back and Sheldon has Wil Wheaton on as his special guest to talk about flags from Star Trek, but things become tense when Amy and Wil don’t get along very well. After feeling insulted, Amy pushes Sheldon to make Wil leave, but he refuses, so Amy leaves herself. Sheldon later tries to push Amy to get along with Wil, but it goes no where fast so he talks to Penny about his relationship woes. Penny gets Sheldon drunk and tells him that he should be standing up for his woman. This prompts a very drunk Sheldon to head to Wil’s house and confront him about his behavior towards Amy. After Wil apologizes Amy and Sheldon get back to normal, but he’s not invited back to Fun With Flags. Instead Sheldon has LeVar Burton on the show… and she doesn’t get along with him either.

As promised, Howard moves in with Bernadette now that he is back from space, but when she realizes that his mommy issues are starting to overflow onto her, she kicks him out sending him back to live with his mother until he can sort it out. It’s a bit of a harsh reaction, but at the same time, no woman wants to be married to a man that has mommy issues.

We were happy to see Amy stand up for herself with Sheldon since he often gets his way and rarely stands up for anyone outside of himself. She brings a nice balance to his life and forces him to think of others, something he’s not used to, but needs to get better at. Episode grade: B
