‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20 review: Noah Galloway, Riker Lynch, Rumer Willis face off to start finale

DWTS -Tonight, the finale for “Dancing with the Stars” officially began, and tonight’s show was really all about who could do the best job reminding you of great things that happened in the past, while also showing you how they can handle one of the most difficult routines performed on the show in the freestyle. We still have massive respect for anyone who can come up with something new and deliver it in the middle of all of the pressure and the nerves.

We don’t really want to spend too much time on the reprisals here, mostly because the narrative in those should be pretty clear: The judges know that Rumer Willis and Riker Lynch are the best dancers left, so they are probably going to elevate them above Noah Galloway in the scores. Both Riker and Rumer got perfect scores, while this saddled Noah with a 32 and in last place.

Now, let’s move on to the freestyles.

Noah and Sharna Burgess – This was simply smart. It was a good way for them to both play up Noah’s shirtlessness (you’re welcome), and also tell an emotional journey to the backdrop of some emotional songs.

Riker and Allison Holker – A very cool routine that had a classical flair to it with the top hats and its overall vibe, but was also still relatively modern with a few hip-hop moves thrown in there and plenty of choreography.

Rumer and Val Chmerkovskiy – This was impressive. Not only was there singing and violin-playing, but also exceptional dancing like nobody’s business! We don’t know what the results will be, but based on that alone Rumer should be crowned the winner. (All three stars scores perfect 40s in the last round.)
