‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 video: Bosses tease darker time ahead for Damon

At this particular moment, finding some extensive scoop on “The Vampire Diaries” season 7 is not going to be a particularly easy thing to do, and there are a number of different reasons for that. For one, season 6 is already over, and therefore so are the majority of the post-mortem interviews out there. Also, you have to remember here that no scripts have really been written yet for the new season, so almost everything that can be said right now has to be using some of the most general terms.

This is where we are now when it comes to the video below. In it, you can see show bosses Julie Plec and Caroline Dries serve up a reminder that season 7 is coming, and that this is going to be another potentially-dark year when it comes to Damon Salvatore. Maybe there will be a few things that happen in here that surprise us! If nothing else, it feels like he is going to need some sort of adjustment period, whether it is a good or bad one, to accommodate for no longer having Elena around.

One thing that we definitely do expect, even though it is not being frequently discussed at the moment, is a variety of new faces. The show is going to need to fill out the cast given that Dobrev, Chris Wood, and Michael Trevino are all exiting.

While it has not been confirmed, the new season of the show will most likely premiere on The CW at some point in early October.
