ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: When will Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion begin filming again?

Now that the current season of “Castle” is over and everyone can breathe a little easier about the return of the cast, this is the time to start to start to wonder a little more about what the future is going to hold. We’ll have some more specifics in the comings days in regards to story elements, but let us begin right now with what is both a simple but valuable question: When is production on the new season going to begin?

The answer for now is not confirmed, but based on some past indicators, our guess would be to prepare for things to start up again around the middle of July. The show films in Los Angeles, which they have been able to carefully use to recreate New York City in a way that many other shows do. Even though there are some series that do film out there, it is a little more cost-effective and likely convenient for the cast and crew to be on the West Coast.

As for how long they will be filming this season, much of that depends on the episode count. There have been rumors regarding them only doing 13 episodes this season, and if that is the case filming would likely be over sooner for Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, and the rest of the cast. With that said, we don’t think the count will have anything to do with when filming begins, mostly because of the sole fact that “Castle” is still on the schedule for the fall.

We have heard that there are not plans to make this the final season of the show, so we’ll just have to see what happens there.
