‘Survivor: Second Chance’: Why Andrew Savage is worthy of your vote
“Survivor: Pearl Islands” is one of those great seasons where you can bring back half the cast, and no one is probably going to complain. How else do you describe a group that has Rupert, Jonny Fairplay, Sandra, Burton, Christa, Savage, and so many more interesting personalities?
Andrew Savage is a name we’re somewhat surprised but happy to see in the “Survivor: Second Chance” voting pool, and he is clearly someone who wants back on, given that either him or someone close to him at one point even took out an ad and put it on the voting page. Smart guy! Andrew’s always been a smart guy, but his downfall in the game was not being able to predict that players would be brought back in the Outcast twist. We don’t blame him for that, given that it was probably one of the most poorly-handled twists that the show has done; we didn’t hate the idea, but the players should have known about it going in.
Past experience – 10th place (“Survivor: Pearl Islands”)
Why you should vote for him – Because the idea of him clashing with some of the other alpha-males should make for some entertaining television. Andrew’s an outspoken guy, and we’re not sure that he will be able to handle being anywhere other than the forefront. He’s a vote for nostalgia, and getting him on here ensures that you don’t just have a bunch of players trying to be super-strategic and making moves behind the scenes.
Why you wouldn’t vote for him – Some people have accused Andrew of being overly bitter about the Outcast twist over the years, and there are some crazy people out there have labeled him a secret best buddy of Jeff Probst. (Jeff isn’t going to be casting any votes for him, people!) Maybe you just haven’t seen his season or already have a full ballot.
Our prediction – Savage is another bubble “Survivor” castaway. We’d say for now that he may be on the outside looking in just because we’re not sure he gets the needed love from superfans, but we’ve cast a few votes for him, just because the idea of him coming back is very interesting.
