‘Bates Motel’ season 3 finale reaction: Dylan and Emma kiss, Norman’s Bradley shocker
While there has been some things about this season of “Bates Motel” that we really loved, there’s also been some storylines that really fell flat on it’s face. We like Vera Farmiga a lot, but it feels like they really didn’t know what to do with her outside of her story with Norman. Her blackmailing Bob/I want a pool story was easily the weakest part of the season for us, but Dylan’s story with his father/uncle really didn’t do much to pull us in either. We found that we were really only watching to see Norman get even more psycho then he’s ever been when it comes to his creepy obsession with his mother and to see the Dylan/Emma friendship grow into something special.
Emma getting bumped to the top of the list for a lung transplant brought Dylan and her closer together and they shared a pretty passionate kiss. This is the first kiss we’ve seen on this show that has brought us real chemistry and we want to put the spotlight on Max Thieriot and Olivia Cooke for bringing that kind of passion to this show and doing such a good job that they found a way to stand out in the finale over Norman and Norma.
The real shocker tonight was watching Norma become the psycho over Norman when she hits him in the head with a door stop, ties him up and then locks him in the basement to stop him from leaving with Bradley. When she calls Dylan over to help, they discover that he’s untied himself and escaped through the window to leave with her. While on the road with Bradley, Norman has an episode while in the car with her and drives them off the road. He becomes Norma, pulls Bradley from the car and smashes her head against a rock until she dies. His episodes are so bad now that we suspect next season his murders will no longer be able to be kept a secret and there will be a real push from Norma and Dylan to get Norman locked away and once Bradley’s body is found in the trunk of her car at the bottom of the lake (because you know they’re going to find it) the family won’t be able to deny what Norman is… a psycho.
