‘Game of Thrones’ season 5, episode 5 spoilers: About a Gwendoline Christie photo

We do love Brienne on “Game of Thrones” very much, but it feels like for the majority of the past several seasons, we have seen the character in the same sort of place year after year: Outside.

The photo attached to this article featuring Gwendoline Christie is from Sunday night’s new episode entitled “Kill the Boy,” and there are certainly a wide variety of questions regarding why she is in such shadows. Maybe it is because she is trying to spy on Sansa and Littlefinger? We know from the story this season so far that she is refusing to take no for an answer when it comes to caring for her and fulfilling a promise that she made to Catelyn Stark earlier on in the series.

We love Brienne, but the most we see her do this, the more we wonder whether or not all of this is really in her best interest. After all, you just have to remember here that this is a person who is going to be targeted repeatedly by Baelish’s soldiers if she comes near, and there are plenty others out there who will also target her. Loyalty is one of her greatest assets, but it is also a detriment in a world where the cunning tend to win.

We will say this, though; if Brienne was to die on the show, it would probably draw a harsher reaction than almost any other character going away at this point. She’s beloved, and while we are not a book reader ourselves, we know some out there prefer the TV version so far.
