‘Survivor: Second Chance’: Why Monica Padilla is worthy of your vote
We do know that there may be a few casual “Survivor” fans out there who are wondering who Monica Padilla even is at the moment, and there are a couple of reasons for that. For one, she doesn’t have that appeal of being from the first few seasons; also, she was on a season that was so dominated by Russell Hantz that other than maybe Laura Morett, it is hard to remember many other players.
Yet, there’s a reason that Monica is on the list. She’s smart, game-savvy, and she could actually be the sort of player like Parvati who makes the jury the first time, and then comes in and becomes a major force the second time (and you know how much we hate Parvati comparisons). Voting is done over at the link here.
Past experience – “Survivor: Samoa” (7th place)
Why you should vote for her – She’s extremely dangerous. She’s went through law school, and that alone is a sign of her intelligence. Also, she has proven that she can be extremely loyal, but probably in the right position would still be cutthroat. As we suggested earlier by mentioning Parvati, she was not an immediate threat right away on the first “Fans vs. Favorites.” Monica is not someone you’ll look at right away as a target.
Why you wouldn’t vote for her – While she could do very well or even win in a second time out there, we’re not sure she will get the votes to return. We don’t see an appearance from her moving the needle as far as ratings. We remember her, but we were still surprised to see her on the list given that there are some other notable female contestants who were not mentioned.
Our prediction – Monica’s got an uphill battle when it comes to returning, but she does have the endorsement of Russell and potentially his fans online. If she does manage to get on, she’s one of the darkhorses at the moment.
