‘True Detective’ season 2: Check out Vince Vaughn in latest poster!
The second season of “True Detective” will be premiering on HBO come Sunday, June 21, and we are getting a chance right now to see even more of what the network’s strategy is going to be with this. Apparently, it revolves around featuring only part of the cast’s faces.
The network revealed some first-look posters of the new season today, and the attached one here featuring Vince Vaughn is just one example of what we are currently getting a shot to see. For some reason, someone out there decided that masking a big part of his face would be effective. Don’t you want to see Vince Vaughn actually be Vince Vaughn? It’s just a thought, but we have a feeling that HBO here is probably going for something a la “we want our product to be more important than the individual stars.” They also probably want Vaughn to disappear more into his character here of a career criminal who gets mixed up into a massive operation.
This new season also stars Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch, and is probably feeling some of the weight of fan expectations already, given how good the first season was and how everyone expects the upcoming batch of episodes to be at least somewhere near as good. It’s still to be seen whether or not it actually will be.
Of course, we will have some other news on the show as we get closer to the premiere, provided of course that HBO stops being so secretive about everything.
