‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 21 review: Alicia wants to start a new firm … but with who?
Tonight, Alicia Florrick on “The Good Wife” made at least one important decision in the wake of the State’s Attorney fiasco: She was going to be stepping back into her all-familiar role of attorney, and working to get back onto the trial circuit. At the same time, we also flashed back to some of her earlier days, including some discussions with her old friend Kalinda.
Before we say too much else, we should point out here that these are not the Archie Panjabi scenes you should be looking forward to. There will be some even meatier stuff for the two characters coming in the finale, and this will be a really good opportunity to potentially see Alicia and Kalinda in the present.
Kalinda ended up even playing a major role in the court case that Alicia had taken on to get back into the legal ring tonight, She cited her as a source, which could have proved complicated in that Kalinda was no longer in the jurisdiction. This was at least enough for Julianna Margulies’ character to have a victory here, and the motivation needed for her to make her next big move: Starting her own firm. She’s got her confidence back!
The big cliffhanger at the end of the episode is what we presume most will be excited about, and that is the glorious idea of her and Finn actually working together. We don’t know quite if he is going to do it just yet, but this would be a great step forward if he does. Regardless, though, the great thing to know now is that things are starting to look up for Alicia Florrick, even if there is always room still for a fall. You have to be prepared for that. Grade: B.
