‘The Leftovers’ season 2 spoilers: A new location equals new additions

The Leftovers -The second season of “The Leftovers” will be premiering on HBO presumably later this year, and if you have read some other recent articles, you will know a thing or two already about some of the changes that are in the works. The setting is moving from Mapleton, New York down to Texas, and there are only a handful of cast members who will be making the jump to go along with it. Luckily, they do include Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, and Christopher Eccleston.

Want to know a little more about some of the new faces? Here is what we know at the moment.

Kevin Caroll – According to TVLine, the “Law & Order: SVU” alumni is poised to appear on the show as a series regular for season 2, and will play John Murphy, the new neighbor to Theroux’s character and also the head of the volunteer fire department. He will also be the husband of Erika, who is going to be played by the sensational Regina King.

Darius McCrary – The former “Family Matters” actor is going to guest star as a friend of John’s who goes by the name of Isaac Rayney. He is a palm-reader, and that almost immediately makes us wonder who in the world wants to know their future in this depressing world.

We want to give season 2 of the show a relative chance. The first season was for the most part incredibly grim even to the point of being at times unwatchable. Our main reason for wanting to have hope here is merely Damon Lindelof. We know what he is capable of, and maybe getting a little more away from the source material will help the show to find its own voice.
