ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 22 video: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic dance to Carly Rae Jepsen

Castle -You may not have known that you needed a video of Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic dancing as Rick and Kate to Carly Rae Jepsen’s new hit “I Really Want You,” but you are getting it anyway in the “Castle” sneak peek below!

Admittedly, there is almost nothing about this preview that is relevant to the story. It’s almost jarring in a way. Musical performances are not something that “Castle” is really known for, especially ones featuring people playing themselves in this fictional world. Also, this is a really happy song in a show that can at times go pretty dark. It’s still worth it, though, to see Castle and Beckett dance while backstage at a fictional sketch show. The reason for that is that the prolific creator of “Saturday Night Tonight” has been found dead, and they are of course tasked with bringing the killer to justice.

Yet, who knew that Rick was such a Carly Rae Jepsen fan? The “Call Me Maybe” shout-out is certainly something you saw coming, especially since this will most likely forever be the song that she is known for.

One thing that is interesting here is that because of the song, this video may be locked depending on what country you are watching this from. We wish we could do something about it, but alas!

Finally, we’ll just take a minute here to remind you that there is still no word on Katic’s contract status for next season. If there is confidence she will return, we wouldn’t be shocked if the show is renewed in the coming weeks, and then she just finalizes her agreement over the summer. There have been times where things have fallen apart last minute (Cote de Pablo and “NCIS”), but the vast majority of the time everything works out.
