‘Blue Bloods’ season 5 finale spoilers: Will Frank’s hunch stop a war?
Last week’s episode of “Blue Bloods” season 5 was certainly intense for a variety of reasons, especially when it comes to that cliffhanger: Shots fired right in front of Linda Reagan in the hospital. We already know from the promo for tonight’s finale that she suffered at least a serious wound in the shooting, but we are still reasonably optimistic for her future. This is not the sort of series that would seemingly want to upset the Reagan family dinner table in any sort of severe way.
With that being said, there is still a reason for the entire family to worry long-term, and it revolves around their inability to solve the murder of Chief Donald Kent and his wife right outside of a restaurant. They know enough that a local gang was at least involved in the murder, but they are lacking any sort of concrete evidence to put anyone away for it. This leads to them looking in desperate places in order to find any information that could help them, including seeing if there is a way to get through to the gang’s leader behind bars.
For Tom Selleck’s character of Frank, this even means scouring through old literature in hopes of making some sort of significant discovery. There may be lessons to learn from Kent’s old habits, at least in terms of how to better approach this situation.
Let’s just hope now that this story is resolved in some sort of significant way, given that “Blue Bloods” has not been renewed just yet for season 6. We’re confident it will happen, but the less anxiety after the finale, the better off we are going to be in the end.
