‘Game of Thrones’ season 5, episode 4 spoilers: The Sand Snakes arrive!

Throughout the months leading up to the premiere of “Game of Thrones” season 5, we were certainly hearing quite a few things in regards to the Sand Snakes. These daughters of Oberyn Martell all have been thought of as fierce warriors, and they could have the potential to be dangerous beyond words in the days to come.

The image that we have here is of Jessica Henwick as Nym Sand, who is just one of many you are going to get a chance to meet on Sunday night’s “The Sons of the Harpy.” One thing that should shine through here to you very clearly is that in Dorne, the rules are somewhat different, and there is no gender exclusivity on who can be a warrior. It is a much freer society in a way, and that creates for both exciting and imaginative storytelling in a way that we have not seen in other parts of the show.

Of course, the ultimate endgame and purpose for these characters is still to be seen. We imagine that the temptation here to avenge the death of the Red Viper is strong, but patience is a key to ensuring that this happens in the way that it should. House Lannister may appear somewhat vulnerable at the moment, and the fact that Jaime and Cersei’s daughter Myrcella is in Dorne already is yet another bit of leverage. Whether or not they use that remains to be seen.

We’ll have more scoop leading up to this episode airing, but for now, we would warn you to keep close watch on this particular band of characters.
