‘Orange Is the New Black’ season 4: Two more promoted to regular status

OITNB -Orange Is the New Black” follows the beat of its own quirky drummer, and we even mean this when it comes to the way in which promotions and castings are announced. Granted, it is a little hard to time such things when all new episodes arrive on a single date on Netflix, and then you have to start work on the next season around the same time.

Regardless of when we are getting the latest news when it comes to the show, we still like to think of it as good news either way. Per a report from Deadline, both Lea DeLaria (Carrie “Big Boo” Black) and Jackie Cruz (Flaca Gonzales) have each been promoted to series regular for the upcoming fourth season, which will likely start premiering on the service come the summer of 2016. Both of these actresses have been a part of the show since the first season, and the only reason it probably takes this long for these promotions to happen is because of how massive the cast is already. You have a wide array of inmates on the series, and while there is a little bit of a come-and-go nature because this is prison, some of these characters have clearly been locked up for a long time and will continue to be.

The third season is going to start streaming on June 12, so set your calendars / take off work accordingly. There is a lot of story still to come.

With that in mind, we’ll also most likely have some trailers and some other additional information in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled!
