ABC’s ‘Forever’ season 2: On renewal odds, more for Ioan Gruffudd series
Next week, ABC’s “Forever” is coming to a close … or at least it is for the time being. This is a series that started off with a quirky premise and a solid cast anchored by Ioan Gruffudd, but at the same time has never been much of a ratings champion.
It is with that in mind that we are left at the moment to sit here and wonder one simple thing: Is this a show that we will get a chance to see more of at all moving forward? For the time being, you are right to have a little bit of ambivalence. ABC has a variety of other shows that they are invested in, and the rise of “Secrets & Lies” on Sunday night certainly does not help this show’s cause. “Revenge” is likely done and the same goes for “American Crime,” but unless the network does something surprising like canceling “Castle” or “Nashville,” we’re not sure if this show has too big of a chance at a future.
Still, why not keep hope alive? If you want to see a second season of the series, the best advice we can offer you is to tweet and write to ABC, make your passion for the show clear, and encourage others to watch online or some other ad-supported method. Making sure that the network can monetize the series is a huge priority.
If “Forever” does manage to return, it would most likely premiere either in the fall, or at midseason. We should learn its fate firmly one way or another by the time we get to the upfronts around the middle of next month.

I ADORE the show!!!!!!!! it is without doubt the most intelligent, poignant and humourous show that appeals to EVERY audience and never gets mundane! how many tv shows can say that?????? I am heartbroken that there isnt going to be a Forever season 2…..I download episodes all the way in South Africa and have gotten my friends to love the show and look forward to the next episode. I NEVER EVER miss an episode and am completely captivated and riveted by every snigle episode. abc made the biggest mistake cancelling the show… I truly hope at some point they reconsider and realise what the viewers ACTUALLY WANT! have totally lost respect for abc at this point.

This is a great show and given time will accrue a huge following. Don’t make the same mistake with “Forever” that FOX made with “Firefly”.

Please continue with season 2 of forever. I have very few shows I really invest time is and this is one them . Since house finished it’s last season I been looking for a new good series to invest years in and this is it. Forever is as good as house and I love it. It’s family time at my house please continue it. Congratulations on a gray season 1.

I look forward to watching forever Tuesday. We record the show so that me and my husband can watch it together. It really is an amazing show. I’ll be pissed if they cancel it -_-

This show is so GOOD. I have goosebumps and sit shivering while watching all the plot twists. I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, I’ve screamed. This show is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. IT CAN NOT BE CANCELLED.

It is my favorite show on TV right now!! I REALLY hope it is renewed for a second season! The only reason it’s not doing as well as it could is because not enough people know about it; I really hope it’s not canceled before it’s given a real chance.

I love Forever! This is one great show with a solid cast and a great story that plays with both fiction and reality which can sometimes be hard to do, but the writers make it work flawlessly. I am easily bored by all the reality and celebrity shows on tv. Honestly, Forever is one of my top 3 favorite shows that are still airing and I would probably stop watching ABC altogether if it were canceled. Actually, despite the fact that I am a busy college student, I always weasel my way out of other possible obligations to watch the show on Tuesday nights. It’s that amazing and that’s why it has so many fans despite the bad time. I think if it were on a better time slot it would gain even more fans. I’d much rather it keep the current time than be canceled though. The network really does need to consider the time slot when looking at the ratings. If they do that, its clear Forever should be renewed. It’s very interesting and entertaining. The show researches to make the crimes realistic and plausible. It goes above and beyond in character and plot development. I’ve wanted a season 2 for a while and after that finale tonight, I feel like I have to have a season 2. I, and probably many other fans, would be especially angry if it were canceled after that amazing cliffhanger.

Please please renew this show. It’s the only show that somehow makes you feel warm hearted at every end of every episode. This show teaches a lot of important thing in one’s life. I implore you, please do not cancel this show!

I love Forever, It is like Sherlock Holmes and Watson mixed into one man, and I love it. It’s one of the only shows I watch on TV and crave it. Each actor is amazing and the story line is awesome. I can’t stand Elementary. Why would that be on for already 3 seasons and terrible acting vs this show. Please keep it on. It is such a unique show that I enjoy as well as my fiance. It would be a HUGE mistake to cancel it. There is too much crazy drama on tv, Scandal, Revenge…please keep on a great show that makes you actually want to learn about Medical Facts and History. For our Society please keep it. We need more shows like this.

The ratings have been decent but not terrible not bad enough for cancellation this is an AMAZING show Ioan Gruffud is fantastic as Dr Morgan and he is great with abe Adam is a good villian it has plenty of mystery that needs more than 1 season to be answer. Oh and how can you call a show forever if it’s only on for 1 season

I love this show. It keeps pulling me in time and time again. I live the Adam characters story line, I hope they go more into him! I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for Henry and Jo to get together?

Forever Season 2 definitely needs to happen. This show is not only well written, but is also different from anything we have ever seen. Its like you took “Bones,” “Castle,” “Sherlock Holmes,” and a small portion of “Once Upon a time” and mashed them together in a brilliant show!

FOREVER is the best show ABC has put on it’s network in years!! Other than CASTLE, I have never watched ABC’s poor choices of shows for which they are known. I am a devout fan of FOREVER. It is an intelligent show with a cast lead by Ioan Gruffudd that blends together as though they have worked together for years. The writers make each episode better than the one before with a mixture of drama, humor, and mystery that is not found on any of other show, regardless of network. The crew is a winning team with great sets, locations and photography. The only negative is it’s timeslot and that is the network’s fault. There is a huge fan following for this show who watch and rewatch this show constantly and this includes fans who do not communicate with ABC because they are those who do not voice the opinions which they hold on anything—the silent majority! ABC needs to renew FOREVER !!!!!!!!

First of all, PLEASE give our STAR the respect he deserves by spelling his name correctly. It’s loan, NOT laon. Thank you ! Next, ABC has NEVER had a ‘hit series’ from the Tuesday at 10pm timeslot. “FOREVER” has performed better than almost all its predecessors. Why ABC would have put a brand new series, with so much potential, into that dead day/time is beyond all of us. In spite of that faux pas, “FOREVER” has held its own and has a HUGE following of faithful fans who are doing everything humanly possible to ensure that it is renewed for Season 2 and beyond. We’ve had Petition signing, snail mail writing, emails, F/B postings, Tweeting, all sent to ABC. We’ve made appeals to family, friends and total strangers to encourage increased viewing. Let’s face it, the RATINGS process SUCKS ! There’s no nice way to say it. If “FOREVER” isn’t give ABC’s full support and a Season 2 renewal, it will be the biggest mistake they’ve ever made.
As for me, I have loved “FOREVER” from DAY ONE. Haven’t missed an episode, as aired, and even signed up with HULU Plus and PAY to watch the episodes over and over. This series is PERFECTION ! From Matt Miller, its creator, and his great writing team, to the magnificent ensemble of actors portraying wonderful characters who totally compliment each other. The crew deserves its kudos, too. Their sets, scenery and gorgeous photography brings everything together. Every new episode is better than the last. It has become my obsession and it’s an addiction I’m happy to have.

It figures… ABC finally puts out a REALLY GOOD show and may let it die before it has been given a chance. The show is well written and engaging, characters are interesting and intelligent, and the show has an unusual premise. Given another season with better scheduling, Forever has potential to really rise to the top. I am sincerely hoping that ABC will renew Forever and give intelligent viewers continued reason to tune to their programming.

Forever is the only TV show that I watch from ABC. I don’t have basic cable so I buy Forever from iTunes. I haven’t watched ABC since Ugly Betty was canceled. I am very meticulous about TV show plots and how dialog is written. If the writers stink, I won’t watch that particular show. But so far, that has only happened amongst half hour TV shows. Not one hour dramas yet. The drama and humor in Forever are well balanced and in good taste. That’s hard to come by on tv anymore. Please let Forever live to see a second season. I’d miss Ioan (“Henry”) if I didn’t get to see him every week. So please don’t take my favorite show away.

I’ve been a faithful fan of Forever ever since I first found the show, at around episode 3 or 4. Wonderful and fun premise, solid writing and excellent cast. I would be very sad to see it go.

Great show! Great acting. Great character development that even Europeans appreciate with the acceptance of this show overseas. There are so many mediocre shows on Tv these days including all the NCIS and Scooby doo detective shows. This show is smart and convincingly real albeit its supernatural theme. Keep it going please for the sake of the state of television.
