White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2015: Where to watch, live stream Cecily Strong-hosted event

MSNBC -Tonight, some of the notable names in Washington, coupled with a whole score of random people from the entertainment world, are going to be gathered in Washington DC for primarily one purpose: “Nerd Prom,” otherwise known as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. This is an annual tradition that is in so many ways steeped in silliness. It always serves as a venue for comedy. Not only do you get to see the President make fun of his administration and the media, but a guest comedian also comes in and provides their own take on the year, as well.

This time around, the woman at the center of everything is Cecily Strong. The “Saturday Night Live” cast member is the latest host for the event, and what she brings to it is an interesting perspective, given that her father has deep connections already to the Correspondents’ Association already as a longtime reporter. She has been around this world for quite some time, and therefore probably understands to a certain extent what sort of jokes work, and also what ones tend to bomb. Given what we’ve seen her do at “SNL,” the potential is here for this to be a very funny show.

So when does the show begin? While CNN is starting their coverage at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, most of the good stuff does not happen until around 9:00 p.m. Eastern time on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and C-SPAN, the network that probably gets more attention during the show tonight than they really do any other time of the year. We have the MSNBC live stream of the event for you over at the link here, officially from the network.

While we would not always call the event must-see TV, there have been times in the past where it has been. For example, we especially loved the version of the show that featured Seth Meyers as host, and the one from years ago with Stephen Colbert is classic.
