ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: See Nathan Fillion, Carly Rae Jepsen in ‘Dead from New York’ photo

“Castle” loves to parody pop culture; we’ve seen them take on the likes of late-night TV wars and science fiction conventions, and come Monday, May 4, they are taking one one of the biggest shows out there in “Saturday Night Live.” This episode is entitled “Dead from New York,” and it should revolve around the murder of the show’s longtime creator. Basically, this is a play on what would happen if someone tried to take down Lorne Michaels.

The show is doing what it can to make most of this case feel authentic, from creating its own version of the “SNL” stage for fictional show “Saturday Night Tonight” to even bringing on a musical guest in Carly Rae Jepsen, who was ironically on the NBC show weeks ago. You can see a photo with her and Nathan Fillion attached to this article; while this was officially released by ABC, it looks like a fun behind-the-scenes shot more so than anything that will be in the episode.

Jepsen is going to perform her new single “I Really Want You” in the episode, and to go along with that she will also have a few lines in the story.

As for the other notable guest-star, Jaleel White of “Family Matters” fame will be one one of the fake show’s primary cast members, and in turn a potential suspect in the murder. Could he really do that? (Sorry for the extremely obvious / dated Steve Urkel joke there.)

This episode is the penultimate one of the season, but for the most part, we expect it to be fairly lighthearted and fun.
