‘The Blacklist’ season 2 finale spoilers: Is Liz Keen in serious danger again?
The idea of Liz Keen in danger has almost been a recurring theme on “The Blacklist” as of late, though not always in a life-or-death sort of way. Instead, what we saw earlier this season was her being put on trial over what happened to the Harbormaster, and it took Tom coming in and taking the fall to clear things up and save her from jail.
A similar sort of conflict for Megan Boone’s character could be coming during the upcoming season finale entitled “Masha Rostova,” at least according to the latest press release via NBC. She could be the subject of a frame job this time by the Cabal, and she may be forced ultimately to rely on the help of others, including Red, to make sure nothing happens to her. Take a look at the attached synopsis:
“In the season finale Liz (Megan Boone) realizes she is being framed by The Cabal forcing Red (James Spader) to use his connections to help her clear her name. As Cooper (Harry Lennix) receives shocking news, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) Samar (Mozhan Marno) and Aram (Amir Arison) must decide who on the task force can still be trusted.”
To us, one of the biggest surprises at the moment is the real omission of Ryan Eggold’s Tom as a force during this season. We don’t even have an idea if he will appear in it now! Given that he has been such a key component in the story as a whole, we’d be surprised if he ends up being persona non grata.

I wouldn’t read much into the lack of mention of Tom – Tom wasn’t mentioned in the initial promo materials for the next episode either and we now know from preview shots that he plays a central role. His character is something of the wildcard: saying what role he’ll play sort of tips the cards for what to expect

Ugh, I’m so sick of the Tom show. They need to flesh out Liz and let us like her a bit more and see her try to run Red’s empire. We need to see she and Ressler working tightly with Red and Dembe. The Tom stuff is ad nauseum. It’s time to see her try to help Red with the help of her teammates and Dembe. I hope Tom goes away on his boat to bumfuk and fishes.

I disagree – the Red/Liz father/daughter, is she/is she not thing has played out for far too long and the Tom/Liz arc gives us something new to follow. Liz – as written by the scriptwriters – has no life outside of fighting crime and finding out who she really is, making her far too boring/unsympathetic of a character apart for her relationship with Tom. And Tom is about the only engaging/sympathetic character in the show except for Red. The central story is the father/daughter relationship and Tom clearly represents the husband who isn’t good enough for Daddy. And after the last episode, Red seems to finally be seeing a Tom in a better light – after all Red wouldn’t have gotten killed if not for Tom.

This is the best show ever !! I don’t ever watch TV and was home sick one day and watched it on my husbands Netflix. I was hooked from the first pilot and never will miss an episode.

Best ever – no that would be the Sopranos on cable and maybe.. maybe… the first season of E.R. or West Wing on network TV. But it is the best thing on NBC at the moment – warts and all.

Hope this doesn’t mean Tom gets eliminated – the only reason I watch The Blacklist is the Tom & Liz romance, and it’s resurrection has really made season 2. If they blow it off I’m totally done with this show.

I really like spader in this show. But seriously. The story just gets more and more convoluted and dragged on. this story arch is the longest ever. Just have something epic happen! They act like they reveal things…but nothing really changes even when they do.

I want to see Tom die in the Season 2 finale. No cliffhanger. Just actual, confirmed death.
I want Red to finally reveal his relationship with Lizzie.
Otherwise I may not be watching Season 3.
There are other shows that I followed for a Season or two, and lost interest in and stopped watching. I may add this show to that list. My own, personal Blacklist. LOL.
