‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 10 podcast: Talking ‘The Forecast,’ Joan’s story with Jessa
We are still somewhat befuddled by the fact that there are only four episodes left of “Mad Men” this season, but we cannot change the inevitable end to one of our favorite series. Therefore, we’ll just have to try and embrace this for as long as we can, and that includes this new discussion of the episode “The Forecast.”
There are a number of key components that hosts Matt Carter and Jessa Carter talk about during this discussion, and they begin first and foremost with the simple subject of whether or not Joan’s story serves as a fitting end to her character. Is it possible that we see this play out for her more than we have to date? Could we imagine her and Richard being happy, or will his feelings about not wanting to raise more children come back into play?
Also, we go through the big stories this week for Don and Betty, who each are covering up a certain degree of misery by trying everything that they can to mask it … of course, at times it does not manifest itself in the most appropriate of ways.
There is also a discussion in here about Peter Pan peanut butter, whether or not we’ve actually heard of Tinkerbell cookies, and also the meaning behind the Mathis character’s exit (if there was really anything to take away from this character at all). In closing, we talk about some of the characters we’d like to see more of before we are at the end of the season.
