‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 19 spoilers: How Lily resurfaces

Maleficent -At this point, “Once Upon a Time” season 4 is moving into some unfamiliar territory. Both Cruella de Vil and Ursula are already gone, meaning that Maleficent is really the only one of the much-hyped “Queens of Darkness” left. Is there a way to satisfy her evil heart? It feels that there might be, and it also feels that at the center of doing so she will be managing to figure out whether or not Lily can be brought back to her in a happy family reunion.

Luckily, through one of those sort of coincidences that you can only find on this show, we know that Emma knows her well from her childhood. This leads into Sunday night’s episode “Lily,” which will revolve around Emma’s search to find her in the real world to bring her to Storybrooke. Unfortunately for Emma, the synopsis below makes it fairly clear that not everything goes according to plan:

“Emma’s potential for darkness is looming over everyone, but when Emma realizes Maleficent’s daughter Lily is in fact her closest friend from her foster care days, she resolves to find Lily and reunite her with her mother. Regina joins forces with Emma and together they set out to track down Lily and to warn Robin about Zelena. However, neither of them is prepared for the harsh realities they’ll encounter in the outside world. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Gold faces a crisis involving Belle. In a foster care flashback, things are looking up for young Emma with her new family until Lily’s appearance threatens to destabilize everything.”

If you missed it, the promo over at this link makes it very clear that what we are going to see Lily trying to enact vengeance on Snow and Charming for what they did, which means that Emma’s old friend in many ways ends up becoming her enemy. It’s all very complicated, that’s just how we like this show.
