‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 19 podcast: On ‘Broken Arrow,’ Colton Haynes’ exit, future with Jessa
Was “Broken Arrow” the installment of “Arrow” we expected to see? Not exactly, but in many ways it ended up being the one that we really needed. The show proved that there was a way to shock us without killing someone off, and in this case that meant tricking us into thinking that Roy Harper was dead. Did some of the cast members trick us with some of their pre-episode hype? Maybe, but we still didn’t mind it in this case.
In the new “Arrow” Podcast below, we (being Matt Carter and Jessa, intrepid CarterMatt Co-Founders) discuss the exit of Colton Haynes, and ultimately what this means at the same time for the future of the show. Will he return again? We speculate the possibilities, including that he may realize that some of his skills are better suited for another show, such as “The Flash” or the still-untitled Team-Up show premiering at midseason.
As for the rest of the episode, we discuss the rise in Ray Palmer as a hero, a slight change in his personality, and whether or not we feel like there is any way for Quentin Lance to suddenly be on the Arrow’s side again before the end of the season.
In the “Arrow” News portion of the program, we discuss the upcoming episodes, the potential future of Malcolm Merlyn, and also whether or not the show is doing something cool in potentially introducing the HIVE story at the end of the season, therefore setting the stage for something crazy to come.
