‘Doctor Who’ season 9 spoilers: Maisie Williams on new role, ‘testing’ the Doctor in huge way

The latest -What in the world is Maisie Williams up to right now when it comes to “Doctor Who“? Both she and the powers that be over at the BBC seem to be very much keen to make you wait to find out. The “Game of Thrones” star is arguably the biggest casting to come out of production for the upcoming ninth season, and to make matters even more exciting right now, it appears that she is actually in the process of playing the part.

Williams sat down recently for a radio interview with former “X Factor” host Dermot O’Leary, and explained some of what the process and the speculation is like:

“I’m in the process of shooting it … There’s lots of speculation about who my character is, like if she is a younger Clara. All [that has been said] is that she tests the Doctor heavily, so all of that speculation could be true.”

If there is something that Williams has learned very well from working over at HBO, it is how to effectively keep secrets from the press. These two shows are some of the most closely-guarded out of any on TV when it comes to spoilers. Ironically, these two shows have also been victim of massive episode leaks within the past year. “Game of Thrones” saw a whopping four episodes hit the internet this past weekend.

The new season of “Doctor Who” does not have an official premiere date yet, but we feel fairly confident when we say that you can expect it on the air this fall.
