‘The Following’ season 3, episode 9 preview: ‘Kill the Messenger,’ and the bizarre Joe Carroll focus
In the world of “The Following,” Joe Carroll somehow never leaves the picture. This is true even when he remains behind bars, and that is going to be something that lies in the crosshairs on the next new installment of the show, which carries with it the somewhat-cryptic title of “Kill the Messenger.” Or, if Joe had it his way, this episode would more than likely just be titled “Kill Everybody.” Remember, this is a man who has a habit for doing some terrible stuff.
However, he’s not the proactive one in this story. It’s rather difficult for him to be given his current predicament. Instead, we figure that the synopsis below probably gives you most of the information you need to figure out what to expect:
“After the latest shocking discovery, Ryan finds himself being followed by the new illusive killer and a game of cat-and-mouse begins leading them both back to Joe Carroll, for different reasons. Meanwhile, Max and Mike look for a stolen clue and Mark makes a shocking decision.”
The promo below really makes it clear just how disturbing things are going to get for Ryan, given that he faces the prospect of actually working with Joe while at the same time has great difficult tracking down Theo. This is a man who excels in being in many places at the same time, not to mention secrets and alternate identities. Let’s just say that you don’t get to be nearly as good as this guy is unless you have been doing this a long time.
