‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: More specifics behind Nina Dobrev’s exit

The latest -Yes, it is going to be a while before the entirety of the situation sets in about Nina Dobrev leaving “The Vampire Diaries” after so many years. Before that, though, we’re going to take as much advantage as possible to figure out some more information about why it is happening now.

According to an informative piece from E! News, one of the major reasons why Dobrev left was to pursue more movies, which is something that many assumed she was interested in. However, a part of it that we did not really think about here was also the long hours, and the fact that there were times when she was playing as many as three characters. that is exhausting work for six years in a row, especially when you include so many night shoots in there. We feel like shows with night shoots do have a slightly higher turnover rate than others; for example, look at the fact that “Teen Wolf” has lost everyone from Crystal Reed to Colton Haynes.

This report also issues another reminder that her leaving had nothing to do with her split from Ian Somerhalder, and that she was planning to leave after six years even while the two parties were still together. We can only hope that this stops some of the useless tabloid babble, who have been desperate to proclaim that the two’s past has been a huge factor in drama on-set. There’s no such drama; there are, however, tabloids desperate to make money off of their names.

When it comes to why Nina did not announce she was leaving earlier this season, which we know is a big question, we imagine that there is one reason for it: To give the show more flexibility. If everyone knew the entire year, this is almost all the media would talk about and discuss. There would not be any real room for discussion about other stories. This is the perfect timing for the announcement, since it gives you the right amount of time to be nostalgic.

There is still no word on how Elena will be written off, but our take is that it should keep it open for her to return for a possible series finale, where she and Damon can have their happy ending.
