‘Arrow’ / ‘The Flash’ spin-off: No definitive title yet

It is interesting that even though we’ve known about the proposed “Arrow” / “The Flash” superhero team-up show for a few weeks now, so much of it is still a mystery. We’ve learned about a few characters, but we have yet to learn anything about the full cast, who Caity Lotz is playing, or even a title.

One thing that we can say is that it looks like there are plans to reveal the name of the show soon. Given that “Justice League” is taken by the movie universe, they are not going to go with that, but our recommendation is to come up with something equivalent. Don’t highlight one character over another, and really celebrate the fact that you have an ensemble here in between the Atom, Captain Cold, Hawkgirl, Traveler, and all of the other characters who are set to appear here.

The entire portrait of what this show could be will hopefully be made a little clearer over the coming weeks. One of the reasons why it is probably still so murky is because we really are still looking at something that is a ways away from premiering. Midseason seems to be the timeline for the spin-off, which to us means that there could be some more story leading up to it during the fall and more ways to support its launch. Given the success of both of the aforementioned shows, though, it feels almost assured that this will receive at least a decent timeslot from The CW.

As for the buzz right now, it’s debatable. Ray has probably not be given a fair shake because of the position he’s been put in as a Felicity love interest. Meanwhile, we’re happy about Martin Stein getting more airtime, but concerned about the whereabouts of Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond.
