Ratings: ‘Bones’ season 10 hits low; ‘Elementary’ season 3 even, ‘The Odd Couple’ rises
What is the current state of three of your Thursday on-the-bubble shows? It really depends on which one you are talking about, given that they all have various reasons why they should and should not be brought back. Let’s bring you some quick-takes with the ratings from Thursday night’s primetime figures in mind.
“Bones” – We know that the real thing holding the show back seems to be Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz’s contract situation, but with only a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just over five million viewers, those ratings don’t justify a whole lot of time on Fox moving forward. We do want to see the show given another season, but it may end up being the final one just to tie together some loose ends and see Booth and Brennan on their way.
“Elementary” – The 1.2 rating it received was even with the prior week’s, and while we enjoy this show, we still fee like it is not completely making use of Jonny Lee Miller’s talent as much as it could. Given that it needs one more season to reach syndication, our recommendation is moving it to Friday nights and hope that it draws somewhat similar numbers there.
“The Odd Couple” – This comedy rose to a 2.1 rating last night, and while that’s not amazing, it is on the level of most other CBS comedies. Given the end of “The McCarthys,” we feel like Thomas Lennon and Matthew Perry should be given another crack at this. It does have the benefit right now of airing after “The Big Bang Theory,” but that show has seen its own ratings tumble the past two weeks.

I would like to see The Odd Couple have a second season. I like Elementary but, I agree with moving it to Fridays and Johnny Lee Miller being a unused talent. I wouldn’t worry about The Big Bang Theory. It still is the # 1 comedy and it wins its time slot. It will bounce back a bit soon and hopefully in May sweeps. The Big Bang Theory Rules.
