‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 21 preview: Could Kaley Cuoco’s Penny return to acting?

We will be the first to admit that we have never been an enormous fan of Penny’s career change on “The Big Bang Theory.” We have just spent so much time over the course of the series’ run dealing with her as an aspiring actress, and we therefore have zero investment at all in her as a pharmaceutical sales rep. Sure, she is earning more money, but in terms of entertainment there is only so much good material to be mined from here.

Well, following the misadventures in podcasting that we saw tonight, Penny may actually decide to leave her current job. this is what happens apparently when Kevin Smith tells you that you have a future in the field! “The Communication Deterioration” is the title for next week’s new episode, and you can see the official synopsis via CBS below:

“When Raj is asked to create a message in case a NASA mission discovers alien life, the guys fight over what he should do. Also, Penny is torn between auditioning for a movie or keeping her successful pharmaceutical sales job.”

Obviously the Penny story is the most interesting for the show in the long-term, but we also admit to being very much intrigued in what is going to happen with Raj and his attempts to communicate with extraterrestrials. If he is the first line of defense, we should be very much afraid for the future of planet Earth. Fun times are hopefully ahead in a week’s time!
