‘The Flash’ spoilers: Cisco puts himself in the line of fire in ‘The Trap’

The FlashIs Cisco Ramon destined to meet the same fate no matter what timeline he is a part of? This is probably a question that you should be asking yourselves right now when it comes to the rest of “The Flash” season 1. In some recent trailers, we have seen the beginnings of what looks to be the same scene featuring Carlos Valdes’ character and Harrison Wells in “Out of Time,” where Cisco dies after hearing a full confession as to who Dr. Wells really is … or at least whose mind is controlling him in Eobard Thawne.

Could this scene all be a part of an elaborate setup? That is something that we are definitely hoping for since we now have for you the first details of “The Trap,” the upcoming April 28 episode of the series that does sound to us a little too much like that terribly-named show “The Slap” to have us happy. Hopefully, the synopsis below is going to do a slightly-better job putting a smile on our face:

“Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) set a trap for Wells (Tom Cavanagh). Cisco uses himself as prey which puts him in grave danger. Meanwhile, Eddie (Rick Cosnett) makes a decision regarding Iris (Candice Patton), which leaves Joe a bit unsettled.”

It makes sense that this episode could bring us back to that same moment between Cisco and Wells, given that it would leave him vulnerable to a sneak attack. What makes the Reverse Flash a compelling villain is that he is not entirely evil; he does care about Cisco, and we don’t think he was lying when he said that he views Cisco in many ways as a son. He doesn’t want to kill him, but he has no other choice to in order to achieve his goal of returning to his own time.

The reason for you to worry going into this episode is this: How much is Eobard going to know about Barry Allen’s own time-traveling ways? A sneak attack could easily be met with another sneak attack.

We will have so much more on this episode as it gets closer to airing, but if you missed it now, head over here to watch another promo for next week’s episode entitled “All-Star Team-Up.” Also, rush over here in a flash to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
