‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 20 preview: When do Sophia Bush, cast return?

Tonight, “Chicago PD” aired an episode that was Olinsky-centric, and one that we personally believe is one of the better ones we’ve seen in a little while. Now, we just have to hope that this is enough of an episode to satisfy you for a little while.

As you probably guessed based on the “Law & Order: SVU” preview earlier, there is no new episode of the NBC show tonight. The same goes for next week. The return date is Wednesday, April 29, and the one thing that we can tell you is that this will be the conclusion of an epic three-part crossover event with “SVU” and “Chicago Fire.” We wonder in particular if the latter show is getting a little exhausted with all the crossing over; remember, it also is coming off of the backdoor pilot for “Chicago Med,” which could become a part of this world and create a crazy four-show crossover in the event that it is picked up. When was the last time that we had something like that?

What we hope as we get into these final episodes, outside of a fun spin-off, is a focus again on Lindsay, Halstead, and Voight. These are to us the three overall most compelling characters (we’d add Olinsky after tonight), and they all need something meaty to tackle now. With Lindsay in particular, we haven’t been completely over the moon about any story since she rejoined Intelligence.
