NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Did Brian Johnson, Mia Z, Rob Taylor, Sonic, India Carney advance?

The latest -

Tonight, NBC aired the first “Voice” results of the season, and they definitely provided us with some drama? However, we cannot really say that they brought to the table a whole lot of surprises. Most of the eliminations were easy to see coming based on the performances that we saw over the course of the past couple of nights.

Let’s start by saying first and foremost that the voters did a really great job. Corey Kent White, Meghan Linsey, Kimberly Nichole, India Carney, Sawyer Fredericks, Mia Z, Deanna Johnson, and Joshua Davis were all declared safe by the voters. They all charted well, and some of them also have a little bit of a following they accumulated before the show.

Now, let’s talk saves. We’re glad first and foremost that Blake Shelton kept Hannah Kirby, since she is quirky and interesting. Meanwhile, Christina did the right thing in keeping Rob Taylor, since he had a very good performance and it feels like there is so much more that he can give. Koryn Hawthorne was a really smart move for Pharrell, and we feel like Brian Johnson has been given the screen time in order to ensure that he will be a force to be reckoned with if the right song comes along.

Ultimately, what we feel like here is that while there was no real stunner that was on the level of ones that we’ve seen in the live playoffs in the past. We’ve got a very strong top 12, and while we feel like Sawyer is the runaway favorite, we thought the same thing about Christina Grimmie and she didn’t win.
