‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 2 review: Max and Taylor’s move, David’s secret, and Carter’s burden

Finding Carter -After a season premiere that was full of surprises, we’d understand if you at least thought for a second that “Finding Carter” was going to put the brakes at least a little bit. Not so much. Tuesday night’s new episode was insane, and it started and ended with one key revelation: David Wilson’s big secret that he had hid from Elizabeth, Carter, and everyone.

Ultimately, this was the sort of secret you should have seen coming a mile away: David and Lori had an affair when the kids were really young. Elizabeth and David were fighting, and he went into the arms of Lori for solace in that rough time. What was really strong about this reveal was watching the split narrative with Lori on one side of the coin, and David on the other. His story was one that it was a one-time affair, and far less intense than the one that we were hearing from Lori in her interrogation.

Is David finally going to tell his wife the truth? Carter did her best to convince him to do it, and if he does, it is going to have some devastating consequences. Based on the look on Elizabeth’s face at the end of the episode, it already has.

It may not be fair at all to Max and Taylor, but their story almost felt like an afterthought mostly because everything around them was so insane. Their story is still valuable, but in a very different way as they have decided to split … for now. They each need some time and space, but we don’t think they are over by any means. Grade: B+.
