‘iZombie’ season 1, episode 5 review: Has Liv met the zombie of her dreams?
Last week on “iZombie” we saw Live make a move to block Major’s new girlfriend from moving in with him by pushing Ravi to be his new roommate instead. It made Major think that Liv may still be interested in him (also that she tried to jump his bones two weeks ago too) and it seems that he may be leaving his options open since he didn’t make Ravi sign a lease.
Liv: This week’s case of the week involves a woman named Holly, someone that Liv went to college with. She was a woman that took a lot of chances in life, including how she ended up dying…. skydiving. After eating her brain, Liv finds that she’s taking more chances in life, but she also learns that her friend may have been drugged and murdered and that her death wasn’t an accident.
While investigating Holly’s case, she meets a man (Lowell) that is another zombie and was able to quickly figure out that she is too. What’s interesting about him is that while Liv and Blaine have their pale completions and blond hair, this guy doesn’t look like a zombie at all. We were a little worried when Blaine was brought in that he was going to be the love interest for Liv, but this new guy is very interested in Liv. Even though he’s involved in the case of the week (he’s not the murderer), we kinda like him and hope that he sticks around. He asks her out on a date and after a compelling speech, she says she’ll call him.
Major: Eddie’s missing and Jerome hasn’t turned up so Major has gone to Clive as a last resort after putting in a missing persons report that went no where. Clive doesn’t seem to be much help and we worry that Major is going to do something stupid. As time goes on, Clive decides to look a little deeper into Jerome’s disappearance and learns that many people have gone missing. He goes to his boss for some help and while he doesn’t help we learn that his boss is a zombie. Major thinks that Clive hasn’t looked into thing and heads out to find Jerome… only to get his butt kicked (and we learn that there’s another zombie roaming around… Blaine’s handy work).
Seeing Liv have feelings for someone new was kinda cool. We like Major pretty well, but there was some crazy chemistry between Liv and Lowell that we want to see explored further. While it could’ve been Holly’s brain’s that were causing Liv’s attraction to Lowell, we are hoping it wasn’t. Episode grade: B-
