‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Adult Lily casting confirmed
In many ways, you knew that it was coming that Agnes Bruckner was going to be playing an important role on “Once Upon a Time” season 4. Why else would there have been so much made about her casting a few weeks ago unless she was playing someone who mattered? Even at the time, many suspected that she would be playing an older version of Lily, Emma Swan’s brief childhood friend who definitely had a wild side. The same goes for all of those who suspected that she may have been in secret the daughter of Maleficent.
Now, it has been confirmed via Entertainment Weekly that Bruckner has in case fact been booked officially for the role, and she should surface at some point by the end of this month. With Maleficent knowing now that this is her daughter, this is a chance for her to try and get redemption after Snow and Charming took her child away from her right after she laid an egg in dragon form. (Yes, that is seriously what happened.)
What could be very fun about getting to see an older version of Lily on the show is that this allows for a chance to get a story that brings to light some memories of the pilot. Specifically, we’re talking here in terms of how this could put Lily in a position similar to Emma Swan, where she learns about magic and this crazy world all at once. The difference is that instead of one person in Henry telling her the truth, she could have an entire town!
Ultimately, Lily is probably key to Maleficent changing her ways; we are going to have to wait and see what happens here.
